Everything you need to know
General
Fly into Rome, Florence, Pisa, or Perugia. From there, you can reach SPAO Borgo by taxi or rental car in 1-2 hours. Once we have a better idea of when most guests will arrive, we may organize a shuttle service from specific airports to the Borgo. For now, please organize your own transportation.
Our wedding celebration begins on Thursday, July 17, and runs through Sunday, July 20. The highlights will surely be the pizza party (Friday, July 18) and the wedding ceremony (Saturday, July 19). We would love for you to join us from Thursday to Sunday, but we completely understand if you need to arrive later.
Yes! We would love for everyone to hang out at the Borgo as much as possible! Hang out at the pool, enjoy refreshments at the Borgo Bar and spend as much time as possible with everyone there.
On Friday, there will be free time during the day that you can spend however you'd like! We've also organized some optional activities that you can choose to participate in.
Sign up for any and all activities you’d like to join via the Schedule & RSVP page! We will try to organize them in a way that you can participate in all 3, but the cooking class and truffle hunting may end up overlapping.
SPAO Borgo charges a participation fee, which each participant will pay on-site.
-
Cooking class: €150/person
-
Wine tasting: €35/person

The rehearsal dinner on Thursday night is a U.S. wedding tradition, where the wedding party and close family come together for an intimate meal before the wedding. It’s a way to rehearse the ceremony, thank those involved, and spend quality time together before the big day.
Please understand that it's a smaller, more focused event, where typically only the closest family members, bridesmaids, and groomsmen participate.
We've listed suggested attire next to events on the schedule page. Every day will have it's own theme:
- Rehearsal Dinner (Thursday, Jul 17): Dirndl & Lederhosen or cocktail attire
- Pizza Party (Friday, Jul 18): Colorful Italian summer outfits
- Wedding Ceremony & Dinner (Saturday, July 19): Black Tie optional (suits or tuxedos)
Note that many of the activities will be outdoors.
SPAO Borgo has plenty of space for caravan parking.
There is plenty of parking space for your rental cars.
The Borgo team will be handling all food and beverage services during the wedding weekend. They mentioned that outside food and beverages are not allowed. Please let us know if there are any special requests you have and we'll try to make it happen!
Unfortunately the Borgo cannot accommodate any animals :(
There is WIFI at the Borgo in the common areas (meeting hall, restaurant, reception, main square a borgo bar), but there is limited coverage in the rooms. This is by design, as the Borgo is a converted medieval monastery, and the owners have deliberately tried to retain its peaceful atmosphere. Please ask for the password at the Reception.
Please RSVP by May 1, 2025!
Staying at the Borgo
First, check if you have been assigned an apartment in the Borgo. To secure your apartment, please make the payment for your wedding party. To make a payment, check the Schedule & RSVP page for the amount outstanding and links to our PayPal and Venmo accounts. We'd appreciate it if you didn't wait to transfer the accommodation fees at the last minute!
Check-in for guests staying at the Borgo is available on Thursday from 2:30 PM to 7 PM.
SPAO Borgo offers a pre-check-in option, allowing you to check in as quickly as possible without waiting. To take advantage of the pre-check-in, you’ll need to email a copy of your passport to SPAO Borgo (info@spao.it) about two weeks before the wedding.
Check-out for guests staying at the Borgo is on Sunday, July 20, at 5 PM.
Unlike usual, guests don’t need to check out of their rooms by 11 a.m. We’ve arranged a late checkout with SPAO Borgo for our guests, meaning you can stay in your rooms until 5 p.m. on Sunday, enjoy the brunch, and continue using the pool.
The SPAO front desk is open daily from 8 AM to 8 PM and ready to assist with anything you need.
Each apartment includes a bathroom equipped with a hairdryer, towels, and soap. The apartments will be refreshed on Friday and Saturday mornings between 10 AM and 12 PM.
Most apartments feature one room with a queen-sized bed and a living room with a pull-out bed, separated by doors. We’ve tested the pull-out beds ourselves—they’re just as comfortable as a regular bed!
There is also a small kitchen in each apartment, but it is not intended for use.
There will be an ironing station available for you during your stay. Please inquire at the front desk.
